Bac Kan, one of the most disadvantaged northern mountainous provinces in the country, has so far attracted four foreign direct investment projects capitalized at a total of USD 7.9 million. They include a Japan-invested farm produce-processing project and a China-invested timber processing project located Thanh Binh industrial park - the first one in the province. Two other projects which are invested by Taiwan (China) and located outside in Thanh Binh industrial park are specialized in tea plant growing and timber processing.

Ha Giang province has considered prosperity and success of investors a measurement of its dynamism and development. The province has applied investment incentive policies, reformed administrative formalities, improved investment and business climate and supported business development so as to attract investment in the province’s three socio-economic development pillars - commercial agriculture, tourism and cross-border trade.

From March 22 to 29, Panasonic Vietnam gifts tools for online learning, and “Sustainable book-shelves” with selected books on science and environment for 15 schools in Dong Anh, Hung Yen and Binh Duong. The donation program was implemented as the final one in a series of CSR activities that Panasonic Vietnam initiated since early 2021 to celebrate 50-year anniversary of its official presence in Vietnam (1971-2021).

Tuyen Quang province is striving to become a national model locality for forestry-based economic development in association with eco-tourism. With 423,000 hectares of forests, including 120,000 hectares of planted forests, it ranks third in the country for forest coverage rate and first among the northern midland and mountainous provinces in terms of harvested timber.

The Dao, a small iTay-Thai language group living in the northern mountainous part of the country, celebrate their village festival five times a year. The Dao’s village festival, devoted to the rulers of heaven and earth, Ban Vuong (the forefather of the Dao) and the village’s tutelary god, seeks their support for peace and prosperity for the village. 

The Pa Then, a Hmong-Dao language group, resides in lower districts of the northern mountainous provinces of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang. Pa Then group has eight main family names, including Sinh, Phu, Tai, Lu, Tau, Lan, Van and Hung. Pa Then people believe in polytheism and worship ancestors. Every family has an ancestral altar set up in the middle compartment - the most solemn place of the house, and another altar erected next to but below the ancestral altar to the left for family members who die before reaching the age of 36.

The 10th sitting of the National Assembly opened on October 20 in Hanoi was expected to proceed via video conferencing till October 27 and to gather for face-to-face discussions during the plenary session from November 2 to 17.
